Pro+ Tip: Did you know that weather ‘primary water’ is the number one offender that breaks down driveways?
In many cases, we are called for driveway repairs and come across installations where the ‘sub-base materials’ are the main reason for the issue.
We can not stress enough that the long term structural integrity of your driveway is directly related to the type, quality, and installation of the sub-base materials.
Due to concrete being a solid material and not easily penetrated, water creates pressure underneath causing possible erosion conditions. This can create pockets or areas that have been washed away leaving the heavy concrete unsupported and more susceptible to stress cracks and / or concaving.
Our team spends the time focusing on proper drainage and installing materials which are less likely to break down and create additional issues.
Because your driveway will be subject to traffic, freezing, thawing, and chemicals like motor oil, we use a durable, low-permeability mix that will stand up long term.
You have options with Valroc, choose from the standard mix or high performance which extends these qualities even further. We do not add excess water to the mix on-site, as this dilutes the water to cement ratio. Instead, we use fly ash and water-reducing admixtures to strengthen the concrete and increase workability without watering it down.
