Smooth Concrete Driveway With Brick Inlays and Asphalt Approach in Brookswood, Langley

Completed Custom Home – Final Condition Showcase Video
This showcase video presents the completed outcome of a ground-up custom home build delivered by VALROC Development Ltd in Brookswood, Langley BC
Project Details
Project Summary:
Before forming or pouring any concrete, our team rebuilt the entire driveway subbase, a step that many homeowners never see but is the foundation of long-term performance.

Precision Sub-base Preparation for Long-Term Driveway Performance
Most driveway failures happen below the surface, caused by poor compaction, inadequate gravel layering, or trapped moisture.
We constructed a stable, load-bearing gravel base engineered for Langley’s weather patterns, ensuring proper drainage, soil stability, and resistance to vehicle weight over time.
This approach dramatically increases the lifespan of stamped concrete and asphalt driveways in the Brookswood region.
Concrete Borders, Paver Inlays, and Integrated Drainage
This custom driveway was built using smooth-finished concrete borders combined with hand-laid paver inlays, creating a clean, modern grid pattern. Each concrete section was formed and poured precisely to ensure the pavers sit perfectly flush, resulting in a durable, high-end finish that elevates both curb appeal and long-term performance.
Because the property naturally slopes toward the garage, we installed a full trench-drain system connected to a dedicated catch basin. This drainage design redirects water away from the home’s foundation, protecting the concrete from erosion, freeze-thaw damage, and premature deterioration, an essential upgrade for long-term driveway sustainability in Brookswood’s wet climate.

Asphalt Approach Rebuild for a Clean, Smooth Transition
To complete the project, we reconstructed the approach between the municipal roadway and the new smooth inlay concrete driveway. This fresh asphalt transition ensures a smooth entry, protects the edge of the concrete from vehicle shear, and ties the entire driveway design together for both appearance and durability.
